Tell Stories That Belong to the Mountains
At NamaStay Himalayas, we believe the Himalayas are more than a destination — they are a way of seeing, feeling, and belonging. We’re inviting writers, editors, and creatives to share thoughtful, original stories that reflect the spirit of the mountains and the people who call them home.
What We’re Looking For
We’re not looking for travel guides — we’re looking for stories that linger. Words that carry the stillness of mountain mornings, the warmth of local voices, and the wisdom of a slower way of life.
You can write about:
• Life in the mountains — nature, silence, and change.
• Local people and traditions that carry timeless wisdom.
• Stories of resilience, community, and connection.
• Reflections on sustainability, mindful living, and responsible travel.
• Initiatives that protect, teach, or celebrate Himalayan culture and ecology.
• Creative nonfiction or essays inspired by time spent in the mountains.
• Collaborative writing and editing projects — such as creating educational material for children living in the mountains or curating local stories into published works.
We welcome both emerging and experienced writers. What matters most is honesty, sensitivity, and a voice that listens to the land.
Before You Pitch
A few things to keep in mind before sending your story idea:
• Make sure your piece relates to the Himalayas, mountain life, or mindful living.
• Check our existing stories to ensure your idea hasn’t already been covered.
• We’re looking for authentic, original writing with a personal voice and first-hand experience.
• Please pitch your idea first — don’t send completed articles just yet.
• If you have photos, even better! (Horizontal, high-quality images are preferred.)
• We can’t accept work that’s already been published elsewhere.
• If your idea fits our vision, we’ll get in touch with next steps, contributor guidelines, or collaboration opportunities.

Submission & Collaboration Guidelines
We’re looking for original, unpublished writing between 800–1200 words.
If you’re a writer, please email us at namastay.himalayas@gmail.com with the following:
• Your proposed topic and the theme.
• A brief outline or summary of your idea.
• A short bio (around 100 words).
• A sample of your writing, if available
Please do not send full drafts at this stage. We look forward to reading your pitch!
If you’re a collaborator with an idea, we’d love to hear from you too. If your idea resonates, we’ll reach out to explore ways to create together — whether it’s a feature, an editorial partnership, or even a storybook for young readers.
